Alex McLeish made his first signing of the summer last night when
Shay Given signed a five-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.
Given, 35, pictured arriving at the Villa training ground yesterday, moves from Manchester City, where he found first-team opportunities limited.
The former Blackburn and Newcastle keeper went to City in 2009 for £7million but found himself on the bench when Joe Hart broke into the team.
However, he will be first choice at Villa Park, where he replaces Brad Friedel , who has joined Tottenham.
